CAPITAL CITY JAZZ ORCHESTRA

This 16-piece Big Band was formed in 2007 and features some of the finest jazz musicians in South Wales. The Capital City Jazz Orchestra have been finalists in S4C's Band Cymru competition and have also appeared at the Swansea International Jazz Festival and Brecon Jazz Festival. The band have hosted the Jazz Prom at the Welsh Proms with singers such as Matt Ford, Clare Teal, Claire Martin and Lance Ellington. In addition their regular series of “Jazz on the Level” concerts at St Davids Hall has seen them work with a huge roster of international jazz talent, including Bobby Shew, Alan Barnes, Mark Nightingale and Tim Garland.
